Marzipan muffins with frosting

Marzipan muffins with Frosting – Recipe for easy, moist, and delicious mazarin muffins with cream cheese and cocoa frosting. These muffins are so good and really easy to make. The muffins consist of a mazarin dough with orange zest, baked in muffin tins. Then, they are topped with the most delicious frosting made from butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, cream cheese, and whipping cream. The frosting recipe is from the best chocolate cake baked in a sheet pan.

These muffins are perfect to bake the day before serving, as they become wonderfully moist when kept in the refrigerator. They can also be frozen (without the frosting) and then thawed when needed. I’ve baked them in silicone molds, but they can also be baked in regular paper liners. Enjoy!

Instructions

Mazarin Muffins

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) on convection setting.

Beat together softened butter, sugar, orange zest, and grated marzipan until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, incorporating each one fully before adding the next.

Stir in the sour cream.

Sift the flour into the batter and mix until well combined.

Divide the batter into approximately 16-18 muffin cups (I used silicone molds).

Bake the muffins for about 15 minutes.

Allow the muffins to cool.

Frosting

Beat the butter until soft and fluffy.

Add the cream cheese and mix it well.

Combine cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar, then gradually mix it into the mixture.

Finally, add the whipping cream and beat until the frosting is light and uniform.

Pipe the frosting onto the muffins. Serve immediately or store them in the refrigerator until serving. Enjoy your meal!
