Friday’s Hygge: Homemade fudge

Friday’s hygge starts early today with Christmas recipes and homemade fudge—a true Christmas recipe. Fudge is really easy to make. It requires only a few ingredients. Different flavors can be added to the fudge; for example, vanilla, licorice, berry powder, dried cranberries or chopped nuts. This fudge is plain, but is made with white chocolate. You can easily use dark chocolate or milk chocolate if you like. Enjoy!

Total 2 hrs 10 mins

Ingredients

Fudge (makes about 40 pieces)

Instructions

Fudge

Put the cream, sugar, syrup and salt in a thick-bottomed saucepan and bring it to the boil as you stir it. Boil it until it reaches 124 C. It will take about 25-30 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the butter and white chocolate. Stir well until everything is melted.

Line a 21 x 21 cm mold with baking paper and pour the fudge into the mold. Refrigerate until the fudge has set (about 1-2 hours). Once it has set, cut the fudge into equal pieces and serve. Store the fudge in the refrigerator in an airtight container (it will last for a few weeks in the fridge). Enjoy!
