Crispy apple pie with cinnamon – A recipe for a delicious, crispy, and super easy apple pie with cinnamon.
I used a mixture of lovely Philippa and Belle de Boskoop apples from my grandmother’s garden for this apple pie.
Ingredients
Apple filling
6-8 apples (equal to about 600 g peeled apples, sliced)
2-3 tbsp. sugar, ca. 40 g
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dough for the pie lid
250 g butter, softened
250 g sugar
150 g flour
100 g oatmeal
Approach
Apple filling
Heat the oven to 175 C convection.
Peel the apples and cut them into slices. Mix the sugar and the cinnamon and sprinkle it over the bottom of a pie dish (about 27 cm in diameter). Don’t grease the pie dish. Spread the apple slices on the cinnamon sugar. It doesn’t matter if they are on top of each other.
Dough for the pie lid
Whisk the softened butter and sugar together in a bowl. Add the flour and the oatmeal and mix well. Spread the dough over the apples. Bake the apple pie for about 45 min until the lid is golden and crispy. Serve the pie warm. Enjoy!
