Whipped caramel

Whipped caramel – Recipe for the most delicious airy and soft whipped caramel cream. Whipped caramel is super easy to make and consists of only 4 ingredients. You make the caramel cream by boiling a normal caramel with sugar, whipping cream, butter and salt. The caramel must be cooled before it is whipped into a firm, airy and soft caramel cream. The caramel cream becomes completely soft and has the most delicious salted and slightly burnt taste.

I used the whipped caramel cream as a topping on a brownie. I have used this recipe for the brownie itself. Also try spreading the caramel cream on cupcakes or on banan cake or eat it with ice cream and berry. Enjoy!

Instructions

Put the sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and let it melt over medium heat. The sugar must be completely melted and turn into a light brown caramel. Meanwhile, heat the cream to just below the boiling point in another pan. Turn off the heat and leave the cream in the pan.

When the sugar has completely melted, add the butter and salt. Stir it well. Turn down to low heat and add half the cream while whisking well. It bubbles up and when it has collapsed again, add the remaining cream. Beat to a uniform caramel. Pour the caramel into a bucket/container and refrigerate for 3-4 hours.

When the caramel has become firm (it must not become completely hard), pour it into a bowl and whip it into a light, airy and firm cream. The cream should form small “tops”. Now the caramel is ready to use. Bon appetite!
