Pasta with tomato sauce and burrata

Burrata is a creamy cheese very similar to mozzarella, but softer and more liquid inside. This dish tastes wonderful and is like taking a little bite of Italy. (If you can’t find burrata, mozzarella can be used.) Serve with a fresh green salad. Enjoy!

Instructions

Pasta with tomato sauce and burrata

Cook the pasta as indicated on the packaging. Meanwhile, make the tomato sauce by sautéing the onions, garlic and chili in olive oil in a pot. Don’t let them brown. Then add the tomatoes and let them fry for a few minutes. Pour the cream and pasta water into the pot. Add the tomato purée, brown sugar and apple cider vinegar and let the tomato sauce simmer. Season with salt and pepper and maybe more sugar or vinegar. Add the basil leaves and blend into an even and creamy tomato sauce.

Mix the pasta (I used spaghetti) with the tomato sauce and divide it on 4 plates. Place either 1/2 or an entire burrata on each plate and sprinkle with a little salt, pepper, olive oil and basil. Enjoy!
