Friday’s hygge: Pumpkin spice latte
A most delicious warming and spicy pumpkin spice latte.
(If you’re not brave enough to make the pumpkin spice yourself, you can buy the spice mixture and pumpkin puree in supermarkets.)
Ingredients
Pumpkin spice latte (makes 4-6 cups)
250 g Hokkaido pumpkin
125 g sugar
100 g brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 L milk (cow or plant milk)
Extras
An espresso shot for each cup
Whipped cream
Cinnamon for sprinkling
Approach
Pumpkin spice latte
Rinse the pumpkin, cut it in half, remove the seeds and cut the pumpkin into cubes. Put the pumpkin in a pot and cover with water. Boil the pumpkin for 20 minutes. Pour off the water and let it drip in a sieve.
Put the pumpkin and all the other ingredients in a blender. Blend to an even mixture and pour it through a sieve. Put it in a saucepan and bring to the boil, whisking until it is heated through.
Divide the pumpkin spice latte between 4-6 cups, add an espresso shot and garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!
