Smashed broccoli with cheese

Smashed broccoli with cheese – Recipe for crispy crushed broccoli florets baked in the oven with Gouda cheese and seasoned oil. These crispy broccoli florets taste delicious and are super easy to make. The broccoli florets are boiled until they’re very tender and can easily be flattened with the bottom of a glass. They’re pressed onto small piles of grated Gouda cheese, then brushed with olive oil mixed with spices, and sprinkled with extra cheese. Once baked, they turn out perfectly crispy and make a great side dish. It’s a fun and tasty way to serve vegetables.

Try my crushed potatoes with cheddar and bacon recipe as well. You can also try other recipes with broccoli, like this broccoli salad or broccoli tart with bacon and cottage cheese. Enjoy!

Instructions

Divide the broccoli head into florets; I got about 12 florets. Boil the florets for about 15 minutes or until they are completely soft.

Preheat the oven to 230°C (fan setting).

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, make around 12 small piles of half of the Gouda cheese. Place a broccoli floret on each cheese pile. Flatten the broccoli with the bottom of a glass. Mix olive oil with spices and brush it over the broccoli. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Bake the broccoli for about 20 minutes. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
