Ingredients
Homemade burger buns (makes 8):Instructions
Homemade burger buns:
Mix the buttermilk and tepid water together and pour into a mixing bowl. Dissolve the yeast in it. Add the eggs, sugar and 30 g of the flour and stir. Then add the flour a little at a time as you knead. Mash the butter with a fork and mix it with the salt. While the dough is kneading, add the softened butter and knead it well into the dough. Knead until the dough releases from the bowl. The dough should be a little soft. Grease a new bowl with olive oil and transfer the dough into that bowl. Cover the bowl with cling film and a dish towel and allow the dough to rise for 1 hour. Then divide the dough into 8 equal pieces (mine weighed about 97g each) and shape into buns. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, cover them with a dish towel and allow the buns to rise for about another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 200 C convection. Brush the buns with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the burger buns for about 16 minutes until golden. Let them cool on a wire rack and then enjoy them Enjoy!
