Friday’s hygge: Danish snitters with M&Ms

Danish snitter with M&Ms are the perfect cake/snack for “Friday’s hygge.” You love my Dumle snitter, which is why I’ve made another snitter recipe—this time with M&Ms. They’re so easy to bake and you can make them in no time at all. I used classic M&Ms, but other kinds—almond, peanut, and peanut butter—taste amazing in these snitters, too. The snitters are made with a kind of cookie dough, so they’re perfectly crispy and chewy. If you don’t have time to bake them on the day you’re going to serve them, make them a day in advance. Store them in a cookie jar. Enjoy!

Snitter (makes about 30)

Heat the oven to 200 C convection. Whisk the butter, syrup and sugar until light and airy. Add the baking powder and flour. Chop some of the M&Ms and leave others whole. Stir them into the dough. Divide the dough into two and roll out into long pieces that are equal in length to your baking tray. Lay the dough pieces on a baking tray, lined with baking paper, and make sure there is good space between them as they will expand a little. Press the dough a little flat with your fingers. Bake them in the oven for 14-15 minutes, until golden. Allow the snitters to cool and then slice them. Store the snitters in a cookie jar. Enjoy!
